The Whidbey Swordplay Association is committed to creating a safe, respectful, and welcoming environment where members can learn, train, and grow together. All members, instructors, and guests are expected to uphold these principles.

1 Respect & Courtesy

Treat all members, instructors, and guests with respect and courtesy at all times, both on and off the training grounds.

2 Safety First

Prioritize safety above all else during training sessions and competitions. Follow all safety guidelines and protocols established by the Whidbey Swordplay Association.

3 Discipline & Focus

Maintain discipline and focus during training sessions. Avoid disruptive behavior that could interfere with the learning experience of others.

4 Honor Tradition

Respect the historical roots and traditions of European Martial Arts. Learn and uphold the values and principles of the martial arts styles practiced within the club.

5 Continuous Learning

Strive for continuous improvement and learning in both technical skills and historical knowledge related to European martial arts.

6 Inclusivity & Diversity

Embrace and celebrate diversity within the club. Ensure that all members feel welcome and included regardless of their background, identity, or skill level.

7 Conflict Resolution

Resolve conflicts and disagreements in a respectful and constructive manner. Avoid engaging in any form of harassment, discrimination, or bullying.

8 Equipment Care

Respect club-owned equipment and facilities by using them responsibly and following proper maintenance and care procedures.

9 Leadership & Mentorship

Show leadership by setting a positive example for fellow members, particularly newcomers. Offer guidance and support to those who are less experienced.

10 Representing the Club

Represent the club with pride and integrity in all interactions within the martial arts community and beyond.

11 Rules & Regulations

Adhere to the rules and regulations established by club leadership, as well as any relevant governing bodies or associations.

12 Continuous Improvement

Provide constructive feedback to club leadership to help improve the overall experience for all members.
